What is it for? Chemists' Own Ginkgo 2000 is formulated to assist in the improvement of memory, cognitive function, and concentration, and enhance mental alertness. It can also assist in the relief of the symptoms of vertigo and tinnitus and the maintenance of healthy circulation.
How does it work? - Ginkgo increases brain alpha wave activity and decreases theta wave activity. Alpha wave activity is common in normal alert people, whilst theta wave activity is abnormally high in those with dementias. - Ginkgo improves cerebral circulation, increasing oxygen and nutrient supply to the brain and protects against oxidative damage of nerve cells. - Ginkgo strengthens blood vessels and reduces the stickiness of blood platelets, which helps blood circulate more easily. - The flavonoid compounds in Ginkgo exert protective properties that appear to be primarily responsible for improving memory and enhancing cognitive function. In addition to this they are antagonists to Platelet Activation Factor (PAF). Platelet Activation Factor is involved in platelet aggregation, inflammation and microvascular permeability.
Is it suitable for me? - Not suitable for children and pregnant or lactating women. - Not recommended for individuals who are using anti-coagulants except on the advice of your healthcare professional. - Suitable for vegetarians.
